In The Palace of the King
I saw John Mayall perform at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas a few years back. Funny, what sticks out in my memory is the site of Mayall packing up his own equipment and acting as his own roadie. Pretty cool. I like a legend who knows how to be a legend and pack up his own gear at the same time.
Freddie King, "The Texas Cannonball" was a big influence on Mayall and his latest release, In The Palace of the King is a tribute to King.
