12th Annual Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride & Concert

On October 1, 2006, head on down to Stevie's hometown of Dallas and support the SRV Memorial Scholarship fund. This year's lineup includes Jeff Healey, Omar and the Howlers and the Eric Tessmer band.

The SRV Memorial Scholarship fund was started in 1993 by Jim Haynes and Jeff Castro with the blessings of Stevie's mother, Martha Vaughan. The first Sunday in October was chosen as a time to celebrate Stevie's birthday and celebrate his life.

The event will held at Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. Cowboys is a 3,000 seat venue with a clear view of the stage. In 2001, City of Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk signed an offical proclamation, naming the first Sunday of the month as, "Stevie Ray Vaughan Day."
